Accutane – Is It The Best Acne Remedy For Acne?

Many people consider Accutane to be the ultimate medicine for getting rid of acne.

Acne is the most common skin disorder amongst adolescence and adults alike. It has plagued humans since the dawn of time. Even King Tut had acne. When scientists unraped his mummy, they found that he too suffered from acne. The American academy of dermatology states there are four primary factors that cause acne.

These causes are increased sebum production, hormones, changes inside hair follicles and bacteria. Sebum is an oily substance secreted by the sebaceous gland. when the follicles get inflamed they produce more than usual. Too much sebum will often clog these follicles (pores) and can lead to the formation of bacteria and inflamed follicles.

Accutane is used to treat severe cases of acne which have not been healed through conventional antibiotics and topical creams. Most acne sufferers should try healing their acne with conventional treatments such as topical creams and antibiotics first.

Accutane is used for controlling the underlying causes of acne. It normalizes follicles, reduces inflammation, decreases sebum production and limits the growth of bacteria on the skin.

Even though this all sounds great, there are some possible side effects you must be aware of before you try it for your self. Accutane may increase the chances of birth defects and mental health problems, maybe even suicidal tendencies.

There may also be other possible side effects. Talk to your doctor to discuss these.

Talk to your doctor to determine if this treatment is right for you. Things you may want to consider are, the severity of your acne, what other treatments you have already tried, the possible side effects of accutane and any existing health issues you may have.
